First, what are the nouns in the sentence? ?
Yes! The nouns are girl, candies, and bowl.
Do any of these nouns have a word describing them?
Yes! Candies! ?
Candies has an adjective describing it: green. ?
Green is describing the color of the candies the girl ate.
A describing word was not used with bowl. ?
Tip: The word “the” is not an adjective. You’ll learn more about “the” later.

What is the adjective in this sentence?
The cat had six kittens on the farm.
Tip: Adjectives can describe the color, type, and even how many there are of something.
Is there a word above that describes how many kittens there are? ?
Yes! There are six kittens. Six is an adjective!

My dad works in a very tall building.

Yes! Tall is the adjective.
